- LifestyleGenuine hospitality. While Generator Studio works on a wide variety of building projects, what binds our work together is not architecture. It is the art of hospitality – where every detail matters and all senses are engaged to exceed all expectations. Our hospitality-driven design work is led by Generator Partner and Director of Interior Design Christina Franklin. Leveraging over a decade of experience designing boutique hotels, restaurants, bars, and other hotel amenity spaces for dozens of brands under Pacifica Hotels’ portfolio, Christina creates curated designs that are uniquely authentic to their place and time. - NonprofitDESIGN FOR GOOD Generator believes in contributing to the greater community where we live, work, and play. Our personal and professional commitment to the organizations doing good in our community is long-standing. We focus on creating built solutions that help nonprofit organizations improve how they connect with and serve their communities, making the experience better for everyone involved.
- ResidentialCRAFTED EXPERIENCESA Home Should Tell a Story-Yours. Our clients often come to us with memories of extraordinary hotels, hidden retreats, and breathtaking destinations that have left an impression on them. We take those inspirations and craft something even more personal: a home that doesn’t just reflect their life experiences but elevates their everyday living. By understanding how our clients move, gather, and unwind, we design spaces that feel effortless—where details have meaning. Whether a ground-up masterpiece or a transformative renovation, each home is as unique as the people who live in it. Designed for living, inspired by you.
- VenueDESTINATION-WORTHY VENUES Generator Studio’s Founding Partners, Tom Proebstle and Mike Kress have been in the sports and entertainment design game since the mid-90s. Today, Generator's technical and creative experts are behind the design of facilities for teams across all major North American sports leagues. What distinguishes our work is a passion for the business of sports + entertainment, first understanding an organization’s unique challenges, market, brand essence, and revenue goals. What results is differentiated design, with branding rooted in the very architecture itself and revenue opportunities steeped in immersive fan experiences.
- WorkplaceINTENTIONAL WORKPLACE DESIGN We solve problems for our workplace clients through an immersive approach to design. Our process includes a deep dive into our client’s business model, helping them plan growth strategies, ensuring corporate objectives are represented in design, and reviewing branding and marketing strategies among other advisory roles. Thoughtful work environments help with employee retention, improve corporate identity, improve efficiency, and open up new opportunities for return on investment.
Generator Studio is a Kansas City-based architecture and interior design firm with hospitality at the forefront of all we do.
Different by design, our studio is a right-sized gem among giants—a position in the industry we relish. We blend the technical chops of legacy firms with hospitality-driven design, where placemaking and storytelling converge.
Displayed proudly in the Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse atrium, @themaryiverson's 60 ft. mural celebrates @soundersfc's beginnings, community support, and the beauty of the region.
Read Mary Iverson's meaning behind the mural:
"The central carnation represents the history of the team and how they gave carnations to the fans after games when they first played at Memorial Stadium in the 70’s. The colorful flags were inspired by the big energy of the fans at home games. The logo of the Reign FC is embodied in the purple crown at the top of the mural. At the base of the mural, the stripes represent the Salish Sea, the movement of a soccer ball, and feature the team colors of both the Sounders and the Reign."
